CURRICULUM INTENT

We have developed a bespoke programme for those students who do not achieve five grade 4’s and above at GCSE and/or are required to re-sit their Maths or English GCSE. The programme incorporates two separate qualifications, Level 2 Certificate in WorkSkills and Level 1 Certificate in Construction.  

Construction  

This qualification is for candidates wishing to gain understanding and practical experience of the variety of trades in the Construction industry. Units entail investigation into tools used, PPE, development of methods and techniques used in the trade industry. We examine Plumbing, Joinery and Bricklaying as well as units in improving organisation and planning for your career.

  • Making Carpentry Joints 
  • Being Organised 
  • Fixing a Water Pipe 
  • Developing a Personal Progression Plan 
  • Building a Simple Wall 

Next Steps 

The primary aim of this qualification is to help prepare you to progress into further learning and training in the construction sector.
