Hedingham School and Sixth Form are delighted to receive
T-Level funding approval
Hedingham School have received final T-Level funding approval for an extension to their Sixth Form block to deliver T-Levels from September 2022.
The good news was received last week during the school’s half-term, meaning that work will start soon on a new £500,000 building project to extend the Sixth Form block to incorporate two state-of-the-art ICT suites with collaboration space for group work.
This news comes off the back of the Government’s budget pledge of £1.6bn to roll out new T-levels for 16 to 19-year-olds reaffirming their commitment to a "skills revolution" with a spending package unveiled by the chancellor last Wednesday.
Hedingham School will be delivering the Digital Business Services T-Level with a clear eye on the technological revolution that continues in the business sector. This will equip school leavers within the necessary skills for a career in the modern world of business.
One of the key features of the new T-Levels is the 45-day Industry Placement that students take part in during the course, learning from those already in employment and gaining valuable work-related skills enabling them to thrive in the workplace.
Headteacher, Andrew Harvison, commented:
“This is excellent news. There has been an anxious wait after the initial approval was given to deliver the T-Level qualification. However, our ability and capacity to provide a high-quality qualification very much depended on this funding outcome. We will now be able to progress to the next phase which will focus on the recruitment of students onto the course, with a start date of September 2022. The implementation team at Hedingham School need to be congratulated for their efforts”
