Governor Vacancy - Click HERE for more information
Over recent years school Governors have had an increasing responsibility for directing the policies of the school. The school converted to an independent academy on 1st January 2013 increasing these responsibilities even further.
The conversion was excellent news for the whole school community and a signal from the Department for Education they recognise Hedingham as a good school where students make good progress over time.
The overall feeling from parents and staff during the consultation which took place before conversion was that they liked and respected the school and didn’t want the change to have a negative impact or alter its ethos and outlook. The Governors and Senior Leadership team are clear that converting on our own will help us preserve the things students, parents, governors and staff value about the school.
The Governing Body’s role is strategic encompassing all aspect of the school life including curriculum offer and Financial Management. Governors work takes place mainly in committees with the full Governing Body meeting once a term. Governors take an active role in school life through visits, training and attendance at school events.
